Inspiring north Wales paddlers

North Wales is an amazing outdoor playground and a world-class paddling destination. Placid mountain lakes and wild upland rivers adorn the landscape in Eryri / Snowdonia National Park. Dramatic sea cliffs, secluded bays and isolated islands enrich the coastline of Ynys Môn / Anglesey and the Llŷn peninsula. Glorious surf beaches grace the fringes of Cardigan Bay, where peaceful tidal estuaries extend deep into north Wales’ mountainous heartland.

This stunning natural environment is a paddler’s nirvana, perfectly formed for kayaks, canoes and SUPs. From historic Llyn Padarn to mighty Llyn Tegid, from the imposing Great Orme to the scenic Mawddach estuary, from the raging Afon Ogwen to the meandering river Dee - and from lonely Ynys Badrig to historic Ynys Enlli - here is a lifetime of paddling adventure, regardless of experience or ambition.

Paddle North Wales highlights these fantastic venues, celebrating their remarkable qualities and revealing their hidden secrets. Novice or expert, committed kayaker or dedicated SUP paddler, here you’ll find inspiration, knowledge and advice to help plan and safely enjoy north Wales’ paddling gems.
